Coahoma Collective seeks to expand the existing Sunflower River park, located in downtown Clarksdale, into a multi-layered, arts-driven experience for our community and those who come to visit.

In the existing park between Riverside and Sunflower Avenues, we envision sculptures that invite people into the park to explore. Pieces situated on high ground, others that respond to the rising/receding water. New sites for river-side musical/theatrical performances. Walking/nature tours that explore the social, geological, hydrological significance of the Sunflower River. More canoe/kayak rentals. Safe, well-lit sites for picnics, field trips, family reunions. You get the picture.

This will be a long-term, ongoing project, led by community input.
